Progress Update 3-29-2011

Hey Guys!

Let's send a big thanks out to Sevini, Herb, Carole, and Randy for setting up a booth at the Knowing and Growing seminar this past Saturday. You guys were great! Thanks to Laurie for the new awesome logo!

Several members have taken lead roles for Finance, Communication, Education, and Infrastructure and everyone in the group is helping out where they can.

We're looking for creative financing options such as workshops, grants, corporate sponsorships, and donations. If you have an idea - let us know!

The new rendering is complete and it looks great. The butterfly garden, grape arbor, white picket fence, and landscaping is really going to make this place beautiful, not to mention the individual garden boxes. Thanks Tammi!

We've coordinated a visit to the Gardens is Havana for April 9th so that we can learn as much as we can about what it takes to create and maintain a community garden. Some of us in the neighborhood will probably ride together. So if your interested, let us know! (Really looking forward to this!)

Also, it looks like we are planning for a fall garden. Spring would be nice, but fall gives us plenty of time to finish planning and get to work!

Gardening is about enjoying the smell of things growing in the soil, getting dirty without feeling guilty, and generally taking the time to soak up a little peace and serenity.  ~Lindley Karstens, noproblemgarden.com
